Our Mission

We are dedicated to raising awareness for organ donation along with providing emotional support to pre- and post-transplant individuals, caregivers and donor families. Through lived experience, we try to answer the questions those on their journey may have, along with insight to aspects of the journey of which they may not be aware.

Our Story

The Quinte Organ Transplant Support Group was formed to ensure that no transplant patient — before or after surgery — has to navigate their journey alone. What began as a small volunteer collective has grown into a compassionate network supporting individuals, donor families, and caregivers throughout the region.

With a focus on Hastings, Prince Edward, and Northumberland Counties, our volunteers work to raise awareness for the importance of organ donation while offering emotional support, shared lived experience, and community connection.

We believe in hope, advocacy, and the life-changing power of donation.

Stories of Hope

Every transplant journey is unique — but no one has to face it alone. Our community is built on shared experience, courage, and the profound impact organ donation can make. Through the voices of recipients, donors, and families, we celebrate moments of healing and honour the generosity that saves lives.

“This support group has been a God-send. My husband had a kidney/pancreas transplant over 3 years ago. It is welcoming to be able to connect with people that have traveled a similar road. As a caregiver it is a relief to see him relating to others who understand the journey.”

— Neva Moelker
Caregiver

“Before the group I had no one to talk to, but after being included in the group I found it's wonderful to have people that understand me and have been through some of the same struggles.”

— Beth Law
Pancreas Recipient

“It was the best feeling to find out about this group... It's nice to have the support of family and friends, even better when one says, 'me too, I've been there'. A group that's been given a second chance and can say 'it can happen for you too'! It helped us hold on to hope.”
